Frequently Ask Questions

If you have a question that is not answered please call our friendly team on 07501 211 488

Why is there a minimum order requirement?

At the Little Cake Boutique, we bake all of our cupcakes and biscuits fresh to order and bake in batches just as a home baker would. Through insisting upon minimum order amounts, this ensures that our customers get the best value for money when ordering from us.

How can I place an order?

Orders can be placed over the telephone or enquires can be made on our online contact form. When you place an order with us, you are making an offer to buy goods. We will send you an e-mail to confirm that we have received and accepted your order. A member of the team will telephone you to discuss your order.

Can I pay for my order over the telephone?

We are unable to take credit/debit card payments for orders over the phone. This is in order to protect genuine customers and help prevent fraudulent purchases being made with credit/debit cards.

Payments for orders can be made in the following ways:

Customers can pay via BACS or direct transfer (for all BACS or direct transfer orders, we request payment is made a minimum of 5 working days before to allow payment to clear.)

Customers can pay via Cheque, we request that payment is made for a minimum of 5 working days to allow for the cheque to clear.

Please note: Bank transfers must be received 5 days before the scheduled date of delivery. Any later and your order will be regarded as a non-payment and we will not deliver your goods.

Can I make changes to my order?

Once an order has been confirmed, it is not possible to change your order. If changes are to be made, this will incur additional charges or delays.

Can I cancel my order?

Once an order has been paid for, no cancellations can be made after this time.

How many days in advance do I need to place an order?

As our cupcakes and biscuits are bespoke and made to order, we require that at least 7 days’ notice is given. This is to allow for the orders to be fulfilled in time. Some orders require the careful sourcing of ingredients, intensive preparations methods and careful decoration all by hand to achieve the highest quality taste and presentation.

However we understand that it may not always be possible to order in advance and that ‘cake emergencies’ do occur! Please contact us and we will try our best to fulfil your order.

Will my products be identical to those on the website?

All items sold on this site are a hand-made artisan product and may vary slightly in colour and flavour from purchase to purchase.

Are you able to do corporate orders?

We are very fortunate that at the Little Cake Boutique we have a number of corporate clients. Our cupcakes and biscuits have been found to be an invaluable tool in marketing whether this be through product launches, thank you gifts to clients and celebrate product launches.

Please contact us and our corporate team will discuss your needs and requirements to create bespoke products perfect for your events.

Where items are ordered in large quantities, discounts are available.

Do your products contain nuts?

Some of our products do contain nuts and these products are carefully labelled. We ensure every effort is made to prevent contamination, as all our products are produced in a facility where a number of allergens are handled. All products may contain traces of allergens.

How do I store my cakes/cupcakes?

We recommend you enjoy all of our products within 48 hours of purchase. If you plan to eat your cupcakes on the day, keep them in a cool and dry place.

We recommend our cakes are only refrigerated if storing longer than 24 hours. If stored in the refrigerator, leave them out for between 2-4 hours, depending on size, before you eat.

Our biscuits do not need refrigerating and are best enjoyed within 2 days of purchase.

Delivery times are co-ordinated in locality and we will try our best to offer you a time which is convenient.

I am unable to accept my order, will you leave it in a safe place?

We will not accept responsibility for loss or damage if you instruct us or the deliverer to leave the goods unattended.

If you are not in to accept your delivery and we feel there is no safe place to leave your order, it will be returned to our kitchen and it will be subject to a re-delivery charge.

Are there any exceptions to which orders cannot be delivered?

Sometimes, for reasons beyond our control we may be prevented from delivering your goods as planned. These might include things such as accidents, breakdowns, fire, flood, storm, severe weather, acts of god, war, riot, civil commotion, malicious damage or the default of our suppliers. We will try to put things right as soon as possible however we cannot be responsible where this causes a delay or failure in delivering your goods.

I believe my product is faulty and would like to get a full refund, how do I go about this?

Please check the cakes on delivery, as any cakes found to be missing or damaged should be notified to the delivery driver at the time of delivery.

If you believe your product to be faulty, please telephone the Little Cake Boutique immediately within 24 hours and return the full cake/cupcakes to us for inspection.

The cost of returning goods to us is your responsibility; however on inspection we will refund your reasonable postage costs, providing that the goods are found to be faulty. If the goods are not faulty, we will return them to you, however you will be required to cover our reasonable delivery costs.

If an exchange is necessary, this will be arranged without unreasonable delay and without charge. Replacement goods will not be dispatched until the original goods have been received at our premises and checked.

Returns will be accepted at the sole discretion of The Little Cake Boutique. Our decision as to whether or not to accept a product for return is final in this.

How do I make a request for a donation for my charity?
